I actually swapped it for a second battery I already had charged, so it was next to no time without a battery, but all my settings had been lost and I was back to square one again. When you first get the camera it will report 0 shutter actuations when you have 1-999. It was completely new, out of the box, I went through the setup etc for ten minutes and then realised I wasn’t going to get away without charging the battery. I experienced the “internal battery” issue with a brand new XT3 last year.
